Microsoft officially announced the event to unveil its latest Operating System Windows 9, codenamed Threshold on September 30.
Email invites are send for San Francisco event on September 30, 2014.
Just like Windows 8, Windows 9 will be available in preview version for developers to test the new features. In the subsequent releases, Microsoft will rectify the issues and push automatic updates to the users who installed the latest Operating System. The final release date is yet not decided.
Preview version may have the following features: New mini Start Menu,"Metro-style" apps that float in separate windows on the desktop,Virtual desktops feature,Removal of the Charms bar feature,Cortana, Several UI changes
Leaked screenshots suggest addition of above features to new operating system.
